Trip to Dominican Republic

As I receive photos and updates from the team I’ll post them on this page.

Thursday January 26

This morning Rebekah is leaving for the Dominican Republic.  It’s 5:40 am and it’s time to pack up our car.  We are meeting some other students from Cambridge at the Faber’s house.  Mr. Faber will be taking the group to the airport.

Sunday January 29

I heard from Rebekah today.  Turns out they were “chilling” for a bit at the hotel today since it was pouring rain.  She logged into Facebook and chatted with us for a bit.  Apparently it’s very warm and humid down there.  Rebekah sent us this picture from the plane ride on the way down.

A building expansion to launch a community outreach program in Aguas Negras next month! The team worked well and gave their all over the last couple of days at this work site.

Wednesday February 1

Rebekah popped online for a wee bit and shared some photos she took on her phone.  I’m not sure what all these buildings are…I’ll find out from her when she gets back.

Thursday February 2

Rebekah came online briefly today while they were waiting on their supper being ready.  Looks like she’s been enjoying purchasing some items – she got chocolate for everyone, seashells from the beach, a ukulele and a dolphin necklace.

Update from Nexo:

Visiting one of my favorite types of orchards – a 5.7 Km2 cocoa plantation! Encouraging the Chocolala team, a chocolate manufacturing cooperative of ladies from Quebrada Honda – reminding them that God is for them and with them.
